Another thing is the guilt of breaking the family habit. If you decide to disclose your decision of eating meat to your family, better be ready for some puritanical discourses that might make you tilt back to your old food choices.
Third is the current trend of people turning vegan. When the world is converting back to 'the healthy way', why do you want to go in the opposite direction ? Why give in to the temptation caused due to many of our 'world food' shows, when their hosts are certainly not the most healthy looking people on the planet ?
Points to ponder carefully, worth the effort though. After all, you are what you eat!
This is a challenge ! Anyone who eats meet must watch this video 'Meet your meat' - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2273569508770398194#
ReplyDeleteAnd I challenge them about their willingness to continue eating meat.
I think I relate more to 'I eat, therefore I am' ;) But seriously, I saw some really pained goats tied up before a festival some time back and felt that if I have no way to create them on this planet, what right do I have to take life away from them ?! For me more than religion or family or habit, I think the sheer disgust it brings when I visualize innocent helpless beings being butchered for money and for my eating pleasure, reminds me of Mareecha and Subahu, not my type !
Thankful I am a vegetarian so life is not as tough for me !
I was scared as i read this post. I thought you were going to or already had experimented with your diet... until I read the last para... !!
